Ecuador Earthquake Outreach
In the midst of a grave financial crisis triggered by low oil prices, Ecuador was hit with a 7.8 magnitude earthquake on April 16, 2016 and the damage was extensive. Smaller quakes then hit the region, including a powerful 6.0-magnitude one on April 20. The death toll reached over 500, with more than 4,000 injured. Rebuilding lives and infrastructure continues today and will go on for quite some time. Our BoL family members, Fabian and Clara Molina have involved the congregation they lead in relief efforts. You can participate through giving. Bridge of Life will continue to collect donations to help with the crisis through Manta Verbo church in Ecuador. 100% of the offering will be used for the Manta church repairs and outreach to earthquake victims.
Checks can be made out to Bridge of Life with “earthquake” in the notes field. Or feel free to make a donation through our website (scroll down to the bottom left of the home page) and note that it is for the earthquake. Please also continue to pray for healing of broken bodies, buildings, and souls in Ecuador. Your prayers are greatly needed. Our continued prayer is that the Lord’s people will be used to bring the gospel message both in word and in deed to those in need.

In Ecuador, there are over 230,000-orphaned children. Of those, less than 35 are adopted each year. 60% of the children live in poverty. La Esperanza Children’s Homes is responding to this call. We opened our first home with full government approval in July 2008. We started with 8 children, and currently are caring for 51 children in 2 homes. La Esperanza is part of the Family Heath Foundation, which has been faithfully serving Cuenca since 1988. Besides providing for just the basic needs of the children at La Esperanza, we also work to create a loving, family environment and provide for the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of our kids. We also minister to the families of our children and seek to both empower them in their role as parents and enable them to restore and heal their families.

Leadership Development Resources
The foreign missions movement is changing! For nearly a century, mission leaders have envisioned planting national churches, churches that would grow by themselves, support themselves and be led by themselves. In the last two decades, a number of factors have led to this goal being taken seriously. Terry and Linda King have a special burden for leaders in emerging churches across the United States and around the world. Their special focus is key leaders who are reproducing themselves. Over the course of more than 40 years of ministry, relationships have developed that provide opportunities to minister on five continents. Being based in the States removes the limitation of needing resident visas and keeps local leaders from becoming dependent.
